Reference Laboratory introduce The LITTLE ITALY,
the cable "podium"

[ Back ]

What is Reference "Little Italy"?
It’s the new display stand, or better, “podium”, for Reference cables: a precious instrument made to help retailers in displaying the entire line of Reference cables for musical instruments and to allow, thanks to the exclusive “REFERENCE Guide to Cables”, to understand, touch and choose the best cable for each musician’s requirements.

The Little Italy @ Ecomusic
Little Italy acts as “window salesman” because as well as exposing, in a neat and elegant way, the entire line of REFERENCE cables, it is also at hand and visually helpful because it sits on the store counter, or close to it.

Thus, an instrument thought for and dedicated to retailers and it is one of these, Marco Gnerucci of Ecomusic (Bologna, Italy), who sent us his personal and daily work experience that we happily publish below (see frame).

Our clients trust our suggestions. Our store is mainly orientated towards guitars, basses and string insturments. Regarding cables, we’ve always shown careful attention and for this reason, we offer the largest choice without trying to condition anyone.

Reference Laboratory "Little Italy": the Cable PodiumWith Reference cables it’s quite simple; we limit ourselves to delivering the CABLE GUIDE to our clients (red booklet), where it is possible to read the technical characteristics and applications for each cable and then point at the cable apt for each individual’s requirements, in terms of logistics, musical style or type of instrument. Often, after reading through the CABLE GUIDE, our clients ask us to allow them to take one home in order to study it closely and within the following days, they return and purchase the specific cable that aroused their curiosity, thanks to the Little Italy stand displayed on the counter!

Being able to tidily display a cable for each type, be it balanced, unbalanced or power (rather than in drawers or traditional racks), is the only way to put our clients in the position of uncompromisingly “running into” the cable subject. In fact, buying a cable is something a musician has to do “on the fly”, but it also has to be the result of an accurate choice, possible only if supported by clear and detailed information on the product. We believe the Reference Laboratory CABLE GUIDE to be an exceptionally clear and explanatory instrument to guide the client in chosing the cable best suited for his or her applicational needs and to help his or her understanding of how this choice is important for their sound. All of this has never been possible in the past through “usual” catalogs.

So, Reference Laboratory’s support to us retailers is fundamental, thanks also to this special display constructed in wood, but mainly for musicians that easily underestimate the importance of the cables they use. With Little Italy and the present version of the REFERENCE Laboratory CABLE GUIDE, my clients have all the useful elements for touching, listening (through 6 DVD’s) and determining their proper cable, as well as being finally aware of how vast the musical instrument cable universe can be, to this day often just known as “wires”.
